Software Engineer – Funds Technology (Auckland/Wellington)

About the role

This permanent position is within ANZ's Funds Technology team, responsible for the platforms that support investment and asset management services. As a Senior Software Engineer you will help shape, deliver and evolve solutions for Discretionary Investment Management Services and advisory channels.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance and extend platform solutions to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Lead technical decisions, improving performance, resilience and scalability of the funds platforms.
• Provide production support, resolve complex incidents and participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call rotations when needed.
• Embed strong engineering practices, focusing on risk management, controls and quality in a regulated environment.
• Contribute to technical governance, documentation and continuous improvement while mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Strong engineering foundation with experience across design, delivery and support.
• Confidence working with multiple stakeholders, including external vendors.
• Solid understanding of system design, troubleshooting and production support.
• Proven experience in software engineering, preferably with Java (Spring Boot) or .NET.
• Experience building and supporting web or micro‑services applications.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD and source control (Git).
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes and scripting/automation.
