Software Engineer - Data Engineering

About the role

As a junior to intermediate Software Engineer on Vista's Data Engineering team, you will help build the technical foundation for the next phase of the company's AI programme. You will design, implement and operate data pipelines, services and integrations that connect data across Vista's systems and enable AI‑driven workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain reliable data ingestion pipelines from APIs, events, databases, files and third‑party platforms.
• Develop reusable services and tooling using Python and TypeScript following Vista's engineering patterns.
• Apply AI‑first engineering practices to orchestrate design, testing, documentation and production operation.
• Create secure, observable interfaces for copilots, agents and decision‑support workflows.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, auditability, failure handling and data‑quality controls.
• Contribute to improving data engineering architecture, development practices and platform patterns.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience delivering production systems.
• Ability to work independently in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams in parallel.
