Software Craftsperson – Node.js, React.js & AI (Remote, NZ)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Craftsperson who thrives in an AI‑native development environment. This remote position, based in New Zealand, offers full‑stack ownership of high‑quality, scalable systems while emphasizing craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve production systems across the full software lifecycle.
• Build and maintain scalable full‑stack applications using Node.js, React.js, and AI‑powered development tools.
• Apply software‑craftsmanship practices such as test‑driven development, clean code, refactoring, and continuous delivery.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of features, including front‑end, back‑end services, infrastructure, and deployment.
• Collaborate through pair programming, peer reviews, and proactive teamwork.
• Work closely with product teams to define problems, propose solutions, and deliver impactful features.
• Participate in a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and raising technical standards.

Required profile

• 1.5+ years of full‑stack software development experience in production environments.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a product‑thinking mindset.
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of complex technical challenges.
• Experience with Agile and Extreme Programming practices in a continuous deployment setting.
