SMT Operator – PCB Assembly

About the role

The SMT Operator will build prototype and limited‑production printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and support product builds on the production line. The role ensures on‑time delivery to engineering and customer specifications while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble prototype PCBs for R&D and limited‑quantity production runs.
• Follow detailed text procedures to produce products that meet quality standards and target cycle times.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT equipment, diagnose faults, and replace modular components.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, work orders, and test instructions to set up and evaluate sub‑assemblies.
• Analyze test data, using counters, signal generators, network and spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
• Report production line issues promptly and suggest corrective actions.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and apply 5S methodology.
• Support QA by calibrating in‑house equipment and maintaining calibration records.
