Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) – Full-time

About the role

The Higgins Green Team in the Palmerston North region is seeking a permanent full‑time Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) to lead a small traffic management crew. You will oversee and execute temporary traffic management duties, ensuring the safety of the public, site personnel and smooth traffic flow. The role offers a standard 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday, 6 am‑6 pm, with flexibility for additional hours as required.

Key responsibilities

• Design, adjust and implement traffic management plans (TMPs).
• Ensure compliance with safety measures and TMPs on site.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks to crew members.
• Maintain accurate daily records and report incidents.
• Provide training and guidance to staff.
• Safely control traffic and maintain equipment.

Required profile

• Safety‑first attitude for yourself, your team and the public.
• STMS with Cat A / Cat B practising warrant.
• Proven experience in the traffic industry; crew‑lead experience desirable.
• Full Class 1 licence (essential) and Class 2 licence (desirable).
• Ability to work on call or night shifts.
• High level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the role.
