Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer in ANZ's New Zealand Technology team, you will help deliver stable, customer‑ready platforms using SRE practices. You will work closely with application development teams to accelerate production releases while ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor alerts, dashboards, logs and metrics to maintain platform stability and escalate issues when needed.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines by troubleshooting build, deployment and environment problems.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to incidents, restore services safely and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Contribute to post‑incident reviews and capture learnings for reliability enhancements.
• Plan, implement and validate changes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Develop DevOps and SRE capabilities through automation, documentation and continuous reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Strong interest in SRE, automation, observability, platform support and incident management.
• Foundational knowledge of operating systems, networking, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, container platforms and scripting.
• Ability to troubleshoot using logs, metrics, traces and deployment data.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset focused on automation, documentation and operational processes.
• Experience with incident, problem, change, vulnerability and operational management.
• Understanding of solution design and architecture with emphasis on reliability and resilience.
