Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Kiwibank is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help build resilient, scalable and secure platforms for millions of New Zealanders. You will join a collaborative team that values engineering excellence, continuous learning and a culture of empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and improve cloud‑native services on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis and post‑mortem processes.
• Implement observability, monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system health.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams to embed reliability and quality into product delivery.

Required profile

• 2+ years of commercial experience in Site Reliability, Systems, Platform or related engineering roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in Agile, cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and continuously improve.
