Shared Services Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Shared Services Manager to lead our established shared services function during a critical 24‑month fixed‑term period as Chorus embarks on an SAP S/4 HANA implementation. Based in Wellington, you will be accountable for the performance and delivery of transactional finance services, overseeing a team of ten professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team delivering end‑to‑end procure‑to‑pay processes.
• Ensure service quality, financial controls and compliance across accounts payable, receivable and reconciliations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to influence outcomes, manage priorities and maintain clear communication.
• Support audit activities and maintain well‑documented, compliant processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and capability development within the shared services function.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with extensive experience in a transactional or shared‑services finance environment.
• Proven track record of leading teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality finance outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a service‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for both finance and non‑finance audiences.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, escalations and stakeholder expectations.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of procure‑to‑pay processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reconciliations.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA or similar ERP finance modules.
• Understanding of financial controls and audit support.
