Service Technician

About the role

The Service Technician joins Canon New Zealand’s Service and Support team, reporting to the Service Manager for the Northern Region. This field‑based position delivers hands‑on pre‑sales and post‑sales support for Canon imaging and printing solutions, ensuring customers’ equipment runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain Canon hardware and software at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults.
• Support network connectivity and optimise system performance.
• Provide operator training to maximise equipment utilisation.
• Deliver onsite or remote support in line with service level agreements.
• Build long‑term customer relationships and keep clients informed of progress.
• Manage service tasks, parts inventory and ensure compliance with safety and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience as a service technician or in a related IT/electrical/electronics role.
• Relevant qualification in IT, electrical engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently while staying connected to the team.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
