Senior Wind Engineer – Power Generation Projects

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Wind Engineer to lead onshore wind projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility studies to operational readiness. You will act as a technical advisor to lenders, investors, developers, and contractors, providing design expertise and ensuring project success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support wind projects, including cost estimation, scheduling, and risk assessment.
• Lead feasibility, concept, basic, and detailed design studies for medium to large‑scale wind developments.
• Coordinate internal specialists (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, grid) to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide technical input for CAPEX and OPEX assessments and review OEM/contractor submissions for compliance.
• Develop scopes of work, prepare technical proposals, and own projects post‑onboarding to ensure client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in utility‑scale wind projects.
• Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel across New Zealand and APAC.
• Strong understanding of grid codes, compliance requirements, and balance‑of‑plant systems.
