Senior Wind Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Wind Engineer to lead onshore wind projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility to operational readiness. You will act as a technical advisor to lenders, investors, developers and contractors, providing design expertise and ensuring project success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support projects, including cost estimation, scheduling and risk assessment.
• Deliver technical advisory, owner’s engineer, due‑diligence and design services for medium to large‑scale wind developments.
• Lead feasibility studies, concept design and detailed design phases.
• Integrate internal specialists (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, grid) to meet project needs.
• Provide technical inputs for CAPEX and OPEX assessments.
• Review OEM and contractor submissions for compliance with project requirements.
• Develop scopes of work and manage technical proposals for complex engineering projects.
• Take full ownership post‑onboarding to ensure client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in utility‑scale wind projects.
• Proficiency in wind resource assessment, turbine technology and balance of plant.
• Strong understanding of grid codes and compliance requirements.
• Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel across NZ and APAC.
