Senior Web Content Specialist

About the role

Join Tauranga City Council to shape how one of New Zealand’s fastest‑growing cities connects with its community online. As a Senior Web Content Specialist you will ensure the Council’s digital channels deliver clear, accessible and engaging information that helps residents find what they need, when they need it.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with content owners, communications teams and subject‑matter experts to improve digital experiences.
• Provide expert advice on web best practices, accessibility and user‑experience principles.
• Use analytics and user insights to inform content decisions and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to major digital initiatives, including website, form and online service evolution.
• Support the design and delivery of digital customer journeys, surveys and forms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in web publishing, digital content management or website administration.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills and a proactive, customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to create content that works for online audiences and to help others improve digital capability.
• Understanding of accessibility, UX principles and digital analytics.
• Motivation to deliver better digital experiences for the community.
