Senior Trade Marks Attorney / Lawyer – Brisbane or New Zealand

About the role

FB Rice is seeking senior trade marks attorneys or lawyers to join its collaborative team in Brisbane, Wellington or Auckland. The role offers the chance to work with a leading intellectual property firm and support a diverse portfolio of local and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage local and international trademark portfolios across multiple industries.
• Prepare, file and prosecute trademark applications.
• Advise clients on trademark clearance, protection and enforcement strategies.
• Provide strategic brand protection advice to consumer goods, retail, technology and emerging sectors.
• Liaise with clients, colleagues and overseas associates.
• Contribute to the development of client relationships and business growth.

Required profile

• Senior, qualified trade marks attorney or lawyer with private‑practice or in‑house experience.
• Proven experience in trademark prosecution, portfolio management and advisory work.
• Exposure to a range of industries or brand‑led sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and client focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational capability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused mindset.
