Senior Test Engineer – 6‑Month Contract (Auckland)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Test Engineer to join our CBS project on a 6‑month contract. The role sits within an Agile delivery team and acts as the quality gatekeeper for complex, enterprise‑scale system integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of end‑to‑end integrated business systems through the Integration Layer.
• Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Collaborate with vendor teams to define test strategy, execution and governance.
• Use Postman (or SOAP) to run API and integration tests and validate data flows.
• Leverage New Relic for monitoring, diagnostics and root‑cause analysis.
• Access AWS S3 buckets, analyse system logs and parse JSON/XML payloads to investigate defects.
• Contribute to quality metrics reporting and continuous improvement of testing processes.
• Work closely with developers, architects, BAs, product owners and business SMEs to ensure all test cases pass before production release.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software testing experience with a strong focus on manual and integration testing.
• Proven experience testing complex, multi‑system landscapes in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with SaaS‑based applications and enterprise system integrations.
