Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

ANZ Banking Group Limited is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Storage to join its Technology Operations tribe in Auckland. The role focuses on designing, administering and supporting the bank’s SAN and NAS storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability and alignment with business service delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in NZ‑impacting priority incidents, handling detection, resolution and reporting.
• Execute change activities including storage configuration, software installations, system builds and testing.
• Manage vendor relationships and attend related meetings.
• Perform risk and compliance tasks for the storage fleet.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Confluence documentation and guides.
• Carry out storage lifecycle, patch management and upgrade projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience with SAN and NAS storage systems.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous and capable of driving initiatives.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAN and NAS technologies.
• Automation using Ansible.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, xMatters, Microsoft Teams, Confluence and Jira.
