Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Brunswick’s Navico Group PD&E division is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver high‑quality software solutions for marine recreation products. This hands‑on role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and applications.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure software quality through testing, automation, debugging, and best engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex software and system‑level issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a strong engineering culture.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions as needed.
• Work on software, firmware, and hardware integration as product requirements evolve.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in software design, development, and debugging.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with Make and CMake.
• Experience with Qt/QML or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing applications for Linux, iOS, Android, and/or Windows.
• Experience with CAN bus and IoT technologies such as ThingsBoard, MQTT, or Mender.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
