Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Seequent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team behind Leapfrog, its flagship 3‑D geological modelling platform used worldwide by geoscientists. You will help evolve the product by building high‑quality modules, adding new features, and raising engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core modules and shared libraries for a complex desktop application.
• Integrate new functionality and ensure it meets performance and reliability targets.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Experiment with new technologies to improve product quality.
• Champion engineering best practices, conduct code reviews, and drive architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth.
• Participate in project planning, estimation and prioritisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience with desktop application development.
• Strong hands‑on Python skills or ability to learn Python quickly.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and mentoring experience.
