Senior Software Engineer - Cards and Payments

About the role

Kiwibank is looking for a Senior .Net C# Software Engineer to help design and develop enterprise‑grade APIs on a brand‑new cloud platform. You will work within the Cards & Payments team to build modern, scalable, container‑based platforms and CI/CD pipelines that enable 24/7 digital banking for New Zealanders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy micro‑services for cloud‑native platforms at scale.
• Build and run containerised workloads using Kubernetes (AWS EKS or similar).
• Implement declarative CI/CD pipelines with automated quality and security checks.
• Break down monolithic business processes into reusable, API‑first components.
• Collaborate in Agile and DevOps environments, driving iterative development and automation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of recent, hands‑on experience with C# and .Net Core.
• Proven experience designing, developing and deploying micro‑services on cloud platforms.
• Experience delivering containerised applications and orchestrating them with Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and automated deployment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts.
