Senior Site Supervisor – Resilient Infrastructure Fund

About the role

Environment Southland is seeking a Senior Site Supervisor for its Resilient Infrastructure Fund (RIF). You will provide independent on‑site supervision, technical assurance and construction leadership for capital infrastructure projects, ensuring work complies with approved designs, specifications, consent conditions and health, safety and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input into procurement documentation for infrastructure works.
• Maintain consistent on‑site oversight throughout construction activities.
• Monitor compliance with approved designs, specifications and methodologies.
• Identify and resolve complex construction issues early.
• Offer constructability and sequencing advice to Project Managers.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based reports to support informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• 7‑8 years’ experience in senior site supervision or construction oversight on civil or infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and methodologies.
• Proven track record of identifying and resolving complex site‑based issues.
• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance obligations.
• Experience supporting Project Managers with construction advice and risk management.
• High level of computer literacy for reporting and record‑keeping.
• Full, clean, current driver’s licence.
• Professional judgement, attention to detail and confident communication.
• Credible, authoritative presence on construction sites with a mentoring mindset.
• Resilient, organised, dependable and committed to safety, quality and public‑sector accountability.
