Senior Security Engineer – Cloudflare & Detection

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to own and evolve our Cloudflare estate and security platform stack. You will ensure the environment is secure, reliable, and governed through repeatable engineering practices while also improving detection capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical owner of the Cloudflare environment, designing and maintaining WAF rules, bot mitigation, rate limiting, and access controls.
• Implement Cloudflare configuration changes via infrastructure‑as‑code, GitOps, and controlled delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to integrate Cloudflare into the broader cloud architecture.
• Provide engineering ownership of security tooling such as Elastic SIEM, Sysdig, Intruder.io, SOCRadar, Upwind, and Nwebbed.
• Maintain platform health, configuration standards, access controls, and documentation.
• Design, implement, and refine detection logic using Detection‑as‑Code, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Reduce alert noise, improve detection fidelity, and create runbooks for operational continuity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cloud security engineering, preferably with Cloudflare.
• Strong background in security platform operations and detection engineering.
• Ability to work autonomously and partner with cross‑functional teams.
