Senior Security Consultant – ICT Security Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level cybersecurity professional to join Security Solution Consultants as a Senior Security Consultant – ICT Security Specialist. The role involves leading the design and delivery of cyber‑governance, risk management and compliance engagements for public and private sector clients across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement enterprise information security governance frameworks and policies aligned to ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF and New Zealand government standards.
• Establish and support Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), including scope definition, policy creation and governance structure design.
• Lead cyber risk assessments, threat‑modelling exercises and security architecture reviews for on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop risk registers, treatment plans and board‑level reporting on security posture.
• Conduct compliance gap analyses, third‑party and supply‑chain security assessments, and guide clients through certification processes.

Required profile

• Proactive, client‑focused professional comfortable managing own workload and business development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior client stakeholders.
• Senior‑level experience in cybersecurity consulting and delivery.
