Senior Project Manager

About the role

Tiaki Wai is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑value water infrastructure projects across the Hutt Valley, Porirua and Wellington region. You will work closely with the Team Leader Project Delivery to ensure projects meet time, cost, quality and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and deliver multiple capital‑funded infrastructure projects from concept to handover.
• Maintain alignment with programme governance, reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, and manage escalations proactively.
• Lead contract scoping, negotiate value‑driven agreements with suppliers and manage supplier performance.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout all project phases.
• Support the development and mentoring of junior project managers.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years’ experience delivering complex infrastructure or engineering projects.
• Deep understanding of project management principles and delivery frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and risk‑management capability.

• Full‑time permanent role (40 hours per week) with a salary range of $108,644–$165,316 NZD per year (including KiwiSaver).
