Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex vertical construction projects from feasibility through delivery for high‑profile clients across New Zealand. You will act as the primary client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope while supporting the consultancy’s strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all project activities throughout the full lifecycle.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Manage procurement, contracts and tendering processes.
• Control programme schedules and project costs.
• Maintain excellent communication with all stakeholders and manage client relationships.
• Lead design management through the consent process.
• Coordinate external consultants and optimise construction delivery.
• Resolve technical construction delivery challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience in a Project Management Consultancy in NZ or AU delivering vertical construction.
• Proven track record leading commercial projects valued between $10 m and $100 m.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle of vertical construction projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of NZ Building Standards and the tendering process.
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
