Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of strategic and operational projects that support nib NZ’s priorities. This 12‑month fixed‑term role will partner closely with business and technology teams to translate programme objectives into clear, executable plans and ensure successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor projects across cross‑functional workstreams, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to agreed scope.
• Manage project governance, risk, issues and financials in line with enterprise frameworks.
• Coordinate between business and technology stakeholders, remove delivery roadblocks and drive accountability.
• Report progress, risks and financial performance to senior leadership.
• Support change management activities to embed sustainable business outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering complex projects or programmes in corporate, matrix environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management and forecasting.
• Experience in financial services, insurance or regulated sectors is desirable.
• Demonstrated success leading technology or digital transformation initiatives.

Required skills

• Project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches.
• Formal project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum).
• Understanding of change management principles and frameworks.
