Senior Project Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services provider in New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive high‑visibility projects across investments, superannuation, KiwiSaver and workplace savings. You will work closely with internal experts, corporate stakeholders and external partners to deliver strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and champion project‑management strategies, methodologies and tools.
• Plan, organise and facilitate workshops, capture requirements and produce integrated project plans.
• Execute projects to approved standards, managing quality, actions and issues throughout the lifecycle.
• Coach and mentor project team members on project‑management practices.
• Define resourcing needs, negotiate allocations and ensure projects are properly staffed.
• Coordinate seamless hand‑over of deliverables to operational teams.
• Monitor budgets, financial coding and change requests to keep projects on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of dedicated project‑management experience handling complex, multi‑vendor initiatives.
• Proven ability in resource capacity planning and negotiating resources with operational managers.
• Strong understanding of financial‑services products such as wholesale funds, superannuation, KiwiSaver and workplace savings.
• Experience managing teams of 4‑20 people and interfacing with external parties including custodians, banks and auditors.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Project.
