Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure & Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of 3 Waters and infrastructure resilience projects across the deep south of New Zealand. Based in Queenstown, you will work on high‑impact initiatives such as treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated networks, delivering tangible benefits to local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies through delivery and handover.
• Provide strategic oversight while staying hands‑on with day‑to‑day tasks such as issuing change instructions, leading meetings and preparing clear client reports.
• Coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors and community groups.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high‑performing environment.

Required profile

• Approximately 8+ years post‑graduate experience in civil engineering, project delivery or construction management.
• Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects in multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
