Senior Project Manager (Contract) – Wellington

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of an ongoing legislation enactment project, guide it through implementation, provide post‑go‑live support, and ensure a successful close‑out. This is a Wellington‑based contract position running until December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation phase of the legislation project, ensuring milestones are met.
• Manage post‑go‑live support activities and oversee the project close‑out process.
• Coordinate cross‑agency engagement and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct extensive consultation to align people, processes, practices, and systems with project objectives.
• Monitor project impacts across people, process, practice, and system dimensions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing legislation enactment projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead implementation and post‑implementation support.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross‑agency collaboration skills.
• Senior‑level project management experience, preferably in a non‑technical environment.
