Senior Operations Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to lead technical initiatives across our medical device manufacturing site in Auckland. The role bridges product development and commercial manufacturing, driving operational excellence, process optimisation and equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior engineering support to manufacturing and operations teams.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause investigations for process and equipment issues.
• Support performance improvement, process optimisation and operational efficiency projects.
• Oversee validation, change control, risk management and engineering documentation activities.
• Coordinate capital engineering and operational improvement projects.
• Analyse production data and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial or process engineering.
• Experience in regulated environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical, proactive and solutions‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
