Senior Native App Developer

About the role

AKQA is looking for a Senior Native App Developer to join its Technology discipline. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, build and evolve world‑class iOS and/or Android applications, applying a mature agile methodology and ensuring high standards of delivery and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop native mobile applications end‑to‑end across the full app lifecycle.
• Define implementation work, assess feasibility and communicate delivery impact.
• Provide accurate estimates, report progress and meet deadlines.
• Write performant, reliable and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with Experience Design to deliver high‑fidelity, platform‑appropriate UI.
• Integrate with external systems and APIs, optimise performance and troubleshoot defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building native iOS and/or Android apps.
• Strong understanding of common frameworks, libraries and design patterns.
• Proven track record delivering high‑quality mobile applications.
• Comfortable working in DevOps/continuous delivery environments and agile teams.

Required skills

• Swift and/or Kotlin programming.
• iOS SDK and/or Android SDK.
• RESTful API integration.
• Multi‑threading and concurrency handling.
• Unit‑tested, testable code practices.
• DevOps and continuous delivery pipelines.
