Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Avionics

About the role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will help shape the future of ion‑propulsion systems, guiding products from early‑stage research through to large‑scale manufacturing and launch. Working in a fast‑paced environment where R&D meets production, you will contribute across design, testing, process development and manufacturing optimisation to deliver reliable, high‑quality propulsion hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve quality documentation such as procedures, work instructions and inspection records.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce defects.
• Support the transition of next‑generation ion‑propulsion engines from prototype to scalable production.
• Improve high‑volume manufacturing processes for reaction‑wheel mechatronic systems and assist with new product introductions.
• Contribute to short‑run satellite bus builds, covering both design and manufacturing phases.
• Collaborate closely with Avionics Test and Manufacturing teams, performing electrical system testing, harnessing, PCB inspection and validation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical or aerospace) with several years of experience in aerospace or high‑tech manufacturing.
• Strong background in electrical systems and avionics hardware.
• Proven ability to work in a cross‑functional, fast‑moving environment.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with scaling prototype designs to production volumes.
