Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Avionics

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive production and testing excellence for on‑orbit Ion Propulsion avionics. You will bridge R&D and large‑scale manufacturing, ensuring high‑quality delivery to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and optimise production and testing processes for Ion Propulsion avionics.
• Develop, implement and maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions and inspection records.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies to boost productivity and eliminate waste.
• Organise and conduct periodic reviews and audits of manufacturing processes at the organisational level.
• Analyse data to spot trends, drive corrective actions and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor production staff on quality standards and best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in quality, project, manufacturing or design engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, manufacturing, mechanical or materials engineering.
