Senior Maintenance Technician - Marine

About the role
RealNZ is looking for a hands‑on Senior Maintenance Technician to join its marine team in Te Anau. You will work alongside experienced technicians to keep one of New Zealand’s largest tourism vessel fleets safe, reliable and ready for the season.
Key responsibilities
- Perform servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of vessels and associated equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective fixes.
- Assist with vessel refits, improvement projects and larger winter maintenance programmes.
- Complete accurate maintenance records and use the Maintenance Management System.
- Work safely as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
Required profile
- Relevant trade qualification (marine, automotive, heavy diesel or similar).
- 8+ years of hands‑on mechanical experience.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and pride in workmanship.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and a full driver’s licence.
