Senior Maintenance Technician – Infrastructure

About the role

RealNZ is seeking a trade‑qualified Senior Maintenance Technician to lead the upkeep and operational performance of its diverse infrastructure assets across the lower South Island. Based in Te Anau or Queenstown, you will plan, coordinate and oversee both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own maintenance projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and internal teams on a range of infrastructure assets.
• Conduct fault finding, asset inspections and corrective actions across heavy equipment, facilities and industrial systems.
• Maintain accurate records, plans and reports for all maintenance activities.
• Travel regularly throughout Queenstown, Fiordland and Rakiura to support infrastructure needs.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum 5 years experience with infrastructure assets, heavy equipment, facilities or industrial systems.
• Strong understanding of planned maintenance, fault finding, asset management and contractor supervision.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Excellent organisational and record‑keeping skills.
• Full New Zealand driver licence.
