Senior M365 Specialist

About the role

Datacom is seeking a Senior M365 Specialist to join its Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence in New Zealand. The role combines technical leadership, solution delivery and customer engagement to drive adoption and continuous improvement of the Microsoft 365 stack across the organisation and its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical escalation point for Microsoft 365 services within the Centre of Excellence.
• Design, implement and optimise Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and related collaboration tools.
• Manage identity and access solutions such as Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS and Microsoft Identity Manager.
• Provide guidance on security, email protection and archiving using Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast and Avepoint.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to drive adoption, productivity outcomes and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• New Zealand citizenship and residence.
• Extensive hands‑on experience as a Microsoft 365 Engineer within an ICT professional services environment.
• Proven ability to deliver complex technical solutions and support customers in a modern workplace context.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 core services: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 Groups, Planner, Yammer.
• Identity management: Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS, Microsoft Identity Manager, Password Hash Sync, Pass‑through Authentication, Seamless SSO, Azure MFA, SSPR.
• Email security and archiving: Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast, Avepoint.
• Collaboration and video conferencing platforms: Teams, Poly, Cisco, Zoom.
