Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy

About the role

Auckland University of Technology invites applications for a full‑time, permanent academic position at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Professor level within its nationally recognised physiotherapy programme. The role focuses on teaching, research and service in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, shaping contemporary practice and education in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across cardiorespiratory subjects, including acute and chronic conditions, critical care, and rehabilitation.
• Develop and continuously improve curriculum, course materials and digital learning resources.
• Lead and contribute to research projects, securing funding and publishing findings.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and supervise student research.
• Engage with clinical partners to ensure practice‑led, research‑informed education.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist with expertise in cardiorespiratory practice.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at tertiary level.
• Strong research record or clear potential for high‑quality research.
• Leadership capability and willingness to assume future senior leadership roles.
• Commitment to inclusive, values‑led education aligned with Māori and Pacific perspectives.
