Senior Guidewire Developer - PolicyCenter

About the role

IAG is looking for a Senior Guidewire Developer to lead the design, development and enhancement of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions across our insurance technology platform. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Auckland and works within an Agile delivery environment to create scalable, high‑quality software for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter (v10+) and related solutions, ensuring reusable and high‑performance code.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Lead code reviews, testing, deployment activities and enforce development standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers, fostering team capability growth.
• Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, quality and processes.
• Support production stability through incident resolution and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter (v10+) and familiarity with BillingCenter or ClaimCenter.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming and software engineering principles.
• Proven ability to deliver solutions through the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity or GitHub Actions.
• Hands‑on experience with source‑control platforms like GitHub or Bitbucket.
• Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform and workflow orchestration within Guidewire.
