Senior Financial Controller

About the role

Manuka AI is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to own the numbers across its ANZ operations. This hands‑on senior finance position will provide cash‑flow visibility, prepare board reporting, and ensure a robust control environment for a multi‑entity consulting business.

Key responsibilities

• Own cash‑flow visibility, prepare short‑ and medium‑term forecasts and report weekly to the CEO.
• Prepare the monthly Board Pack including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, debtor/creditor analysis and project performance.
• Run a tight month‑end close, reviewing bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll journals, accruals and intercompany balances.
• Control the ANZ finance environment (GST, BAS, PAYG, superannuation, KiwiSaver, payroll tax, workers compensation).
• Track project budgets, monitor profitability and identify margin leakage or billing delays.
• Oversee payroll processing and related liabilities in both Australia and New Zealand.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, transaction coding and supplier payments.
• Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts and provide scenario analysis for commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant, preferably within professional services or consulting.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑entity structures and cross‑border finance operations in Australia and New Zealand.
• Strong track record of cash‑flow management, month‑end close and board‑level reporting.
• Experience overseeing payroll and tax compliance in both jurisdictions.
