Senior Engineer

About the role

Envato is looking for a Senior Engineer to join the backend platform team behind its flagship product, Elements. As a senior individual contributor, you will provide technical and delivery leadership on cross‑functional projects, helping shape the future of AI‑first software development.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality, clean, and reliable code using Test‑Driven Development.
• Lead the delivery of mid‑to‑large scale projects, identifying risks and coordinating engineers.
• Apply AI techniques to engineering practices such as agentic workflows and smarter pipelines.
• Mentor and coach teammates, sharing knowledge and fostering growth.
• Address strategic architectural challenges, tactical improvements, and production system maintenance.
• Own the systems you build, including verification, on‑call support, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full‑stack development experience with lead responsibility on multiple projects.
• Proficiency in server‑side and client‑side programming for dynamic public‑facing web applications.
• Strong commitment to maintainable, clear code and automated testing.
• Collaborative mindset, eager to learn from others and give constructive feedback.
