Senior Developer

About the role

BNZ is looking for a Senior Developer to join its Technology team within the Lending Platforms domain. The role focuses on secured lending applications and will be based in Wellington on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. It is a hybrid position with three days in the office and two days of flexible work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhance existing functionality for lending platforms, supporting both personal and business customers.
• Participate in quality assurance through code reviews, peer collaboration and maintaining high coding standards.
• Provide production support by monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving issues in live environments.
• Mentor and support fellow developers and testers, sharing knowledge and fostering technical growth.
• Engage in agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing ideas for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 6‑8+ years of experience in software development and enterprise application support within complex environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work on both new development and maintenance of critical banking systems.
• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior team members.
