Senior Data Business Analyst – Auckland

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Business Analyst to join our Data Delivery team in Auckland. You will work at the intersection of business and engineering, turning complex banking challenges into clear, data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into data requirements, including flow diagrams, user stories, mappings and business rules.
• Work hands‑on with SQL to explore, validate and test data sets.
• Define source‑to‑target mappings and transformation logic for data warehousing pipelines.
• Maintain and refine Confluence documentation and Jira backlogs to keep delivery on track.
• Facilitate workshops, align stakeholders and manage risks, dependencies and impacts.
• Support and mentor members of the Business Analyst community.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities with an agile mindset.
• Experience delivering data or technology projects as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and confidence in analysing data.
• Solid understanding of data‑warehousing concepts and end‑to‑end data flows.
• Hands‑on experience in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban.
