Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Datacom is seeking a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Cyber Defence Operations Centre (CDOC). You will own critical security platforms, drive improvements, and help defend client infrastructure against sophisticated threats.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and update hardware and software to maintain secure, reliable environments.
• Establish and manage user accounts, access controls, and backup/recovery processes.
• Implement operational and technical security controls in line with organisational policies.
• Monitor open‑source and proprietary threat‑intelligence feeds to spot emerging threats.
• Research threat actors, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and motives.
• Lead and coordinate incident‑response efforts with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a technical cybersecurity role, preferably in cyber operations.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to manage own workload.
• Strong knowledge of networks, firewalls, proxies, OS command‑line tools, and system diagnostics.
• Understanding of IT security policies, account creation, password rules, and access control.
• Familiarity with threat‑intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and standards like STIX/TAXII.

Required skills

• SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, identity security, and secure access solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft security suite, CrowdStrike, Zscaler or similar enterprise security platforms.
• Network firewalls, proxies, OS command‑line utilities, and system/server diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII frameworks.
