Senior Credit Analyst – Research & Analysis (Institutional Relationships)

About the role

The Senior Associate position is a senior credit analyst role within the Research & Analysis (R&A) team of Institutional Relationships at ANZ. You will manage end‑to‑end transaction processes, focusing on credit analysis, structuring and portfolio management of New Zealand’s largest corporates, with a particular emphasis on the retirement village and aged‑care sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive credit submissions for complex customers, including counter‑party analysis, financial forecasts and industry insights.
• Lead the annual review process for existing portfolio clients.
• Collaborate with internal partners such as Senior Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, DCM, Markets, Trade Finance and Transaction Banking to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational, compliance, conduct and reputation risks.
• Maintain R&A processes, procedures and reporting to meet performance targets and support the NZ Institutional Banking business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit analysis and structuring for large corporate clients.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of high‑profile customers.
• Growth mindset with willingness to develop expertise in the retirement village and aged‑care sector.
• Strong risk awareness and capability to balance bank and customer interests.
