Senior Contracts Administrator

About the role

Tuatara Structures is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to lead the commercial management of assigned projects from tender hand‑over through to final account. You will oversee procurement, subcontractor letting, cost control, variations, claims, reporting and project close‑out while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial delivery from tender hand‑over to final account.
• Review budgets, contract conditions, procurement plans and project risks at project start.
• Prepare and manage procurement schedules and trade package scopes.
• Run tender comparisons, clarifications and subcontract negotiations.
• Track committed cost, forecast final cost, cash‑flow and margin.
• Prepare, assess and negotiate variations and claims.
• Maintain clean commercial records and disciplined contract administration.
• Support project teams to make sound commercial decisions.
• Help reduce leakage, rework and downstream risk.
• Lead and coach junior Contract Administrators.

Required profile

• 8+ years’ experience in quantity surveying, contract administration or commercial management within the commercial or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of NZ construction contracts, subcontracting, procurement and variation management.
• Proven ability to manage the commercial performance of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation skills and sound commercial judgement.
• Practical, organised, confident communicator able to work autonomously and lead teams.
