Senior Contract Specialist

About the role

The Senior Contract Specialist will manage the lifecycle of multiple digital supplier agreements for NZ Transport Agency’s Digital Commercial team. Based in Auckland or Wellington, you will work closely with business owners, project teams, procurement and suppliers to ensure contracts deliver intended outcomes and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end management of digital supplier contracts, from negotiation to renewal.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align commercial arrangements with strategic objectives.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage risks and resolve issues.
• Provide governance reporting and commercial advisory support.
• Contribute to sourcing strategies and improve procurement processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in contract, supplier management, procurement or commercial roles.
• Experience with technology, software, telecommunications or managed service contracts.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement rules and government commercial practices.
• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation and stakeholder influence skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to manage risk and issues.
