Senior Consultant / Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Rimkus is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant/Quantity Surveyor to join its Auckland team. You will work closely with the Commission Lead, delivering expert advice and reports for construction and insurance clients while supporting dispute resolution and project advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Draft expert reports, claims responses and rebuttals with minimal supervision, ensuring clarity and impact.
• Review, compile and analyse project records using scheduling or database software.
• Act as Lead Assistant, overseeing technical and expert reports and shaping client strategy recommendations.
• Prepare weekly progress updates for the Commission Lead, monitoring team utilisation and upcoming requirements.
• Identify and secure new client appointments and drive business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, law or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years post‑graduate experience with a construction contractor, engineering firm or specialist claims consultancy.
• Proven project delivery experience and exposure to contentious disputes, preferably arbitration.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and high attention to detail.
