Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor

About the role

Tiaki Wai is seeking a Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor to lead strategic communications across its water, wastewater and stormwater services. You will work within a dynamic team, providing advice to senior leaders and supporting the organisation’s reputation while being part of an on‑call Emergency Management roster.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and implement strategic communications and engagement initiatives.
• Identify reputational risks and deliver advice to mitigate them.
• Manage reactive media enquiries and pitch proactive media opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop engaging, targeted content for multiple communication channels.
• Participate in the Emergency Management on‑call roster.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience delivering strategic communications and engagement, preferably in a service‑delivery or operational environment.
• Tertiary qualification in communications or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven ability to advise senior leaders and translate complex information into clear communications.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
