Senior Commercial Associate – Remote (NZ)

About the role

LegalVision is seeking a Senior Commercial Associate to join its Australian Commercial practice remotely from New Zealand. You will work with a diverse portfolio of high‑growth tech, health, fintech and other innovative businesses, providing strategic legal advice and building lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal adviser for assigned clients, managing the full relationship lifecycle.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and IT contracts, licensing agreements and partnership arrangements.
• Provide counsel on intellectual property, regulatory compliance, privacy and consumer law matters.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and graduates, supporting their technical and commercial development.
• Identify opportunities to add value and help clients grow their businesses.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice law in New Zealand.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience advising tech, healthcare, fintech or related sectors.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating with a high‑performing team.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial and IT agreements.
• Knowledge of intellectual property, licensing, privacy, consumer and regulatory law.
• Experience mentoring junior legal staff.
