Senior Business Controller – Commerce

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑focused Senior Business Controller to join the Finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Auckland, you will work closely with the Sales organisation to deliver financial insight, support decision‑making and drive profitable growth across grocery and on‑premise channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and decision support to Sales teams.
• Deliver regular reporting on volume, revenue and margins.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles.
• Analyse pricing, promotions and customer performance to improve profitability.
• Partner with stakeholders on commercial decisions, key account reviews and promotional planning.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting.
• Help build capability by educating teams on financial data.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field (CA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance.
• Strong analytical ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Good understanding of pricing, margins and commercial performance.
• Advanced stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in FMCG sector is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems).
• Familiarity with Anaplan or comparable planning tools.
