Senior BAS Accountant – Pukekohe

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior BAS Accountant to join a growing professional services firm in Pukekohe. This role blends hands‑on accounting and advisory work with team leadership, mentoring, and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and GST returns.
• Act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of business clients.
• Support the General Manager in managing branch performance, workflow, and KPIs.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members while delegating work effectively.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and generate new client opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain high‑quality technical delivery and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant within a CA, BAS, or public practice environment.
• Leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a management role.
• Strong technical knowledge of New Zealand tax, compliance, and business advisory services.
• Commercially minded with a passion for helping businesses succeed.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and mentoring abilities.
• CA qualification or working towards it is advantageous.
