Senior Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Auditor to join the Legal and Audit Group at Airways, the organisation that manages New Zealand’s airspace. Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will work from our Auckland airport office (or Christchurch campus) to deliver high‑quality audit and assurance activities that support strong governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report audits within the Group Audit & Assurance Programme.
• Evaluate internal controls, assess compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable recommendations.
• Prepare clear audit reports for senior management and the Board.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of audit methodologies and assurance practices.

Required profile

• A degree in Commerce, Audit, Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of internal or external audit experience in a similarly sized organisation (800+ employees) with multiple locations.
• Safety‑led mindset with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and influence decisions.
